News for cash for your phones

Nokia have unfortunately fallen on some hard times recently. With smart phones from Apple and Samsung, and has resulted in market domination of the market,

Once Nokia was one of the biggest players. The unfortunate side-effect of this is that many old Nokia phones are now sitting in drawers, as consumers are asking “can I sell my Nokia?” With the advertising costs and trouble of listing the phone on a website like ebay or private listing, it might not be worth even bothering. And even worse, many of these phones could simply find themselves being thrown away. Everybody loses in this scenario, because the mobile phones that end up in landfill along with their accessories are causing them to break down until it releases more toxic materials into the environment. At CashAphone we do everything we can to stop this from happening. Nokia didn’t become a bad mobile phone manufacturer overnight, it was simply market forces turning against them, and loosing focus of what their customers wanted. Many Nokia phones can still play an important part in people lives .

It seems difficult to imagine but all most no-one in the Australia had a mobile phone 20 years ago. And, those who were wealthy enough to own had to contend with handheld devices that were the size of a 2 bricks. As mobile phones evolved people quickly learnt that these handy devices could improve their lives in a large number of ways.

In some ways, people living in the rural areas of developing countries such as china, India and africa are in a similar situation with their communications that we in Australia were 20 years ago. Indeed, they know that mobile phones are available yet they lack the money or accessibility to invest in one of their own.

However, the difference now is that you can help their situation.

By selling your phone to CashAphone, you can help people living Africa and Asia to improve their lives immeasurably. Instead of leaving your old mobile phone lying around and one day ending up in a landfill site, you can sell Nokia mobile phones, Blackberry phones (in fact, all phones) to us so that we can send them on to people who will truly benefit from them.

As well as helping to keep communities and families in touch, this kind of mobile phone recycling also puts a good few quid in your own pocket – so it really is a win-win situation for everybody!

Cash-A-Phone buys Nokia and other brands, refurbishes them and distributes them to developing countries where they play an important role in people lives

Remember the giant ‘Retina’ in Apple’s huge event banner for the 3rd Gen iPad? If you thought that was a subtle hint, then get ready, cause it’s even better this time around. Cult of Mac showed us the colorful signage.

Apple put up at the Yerba Buena Center over the weekend, and it sadly looked like there was no immediate iPhone 5 hints in the banner’s design. But think and look again.

Believe it or not, the banner currently hanging from Yerba Buena in San Francisco points towards the rumored 4-inch display for the iPhone 5.

A very observant MacRumors forum member noticed a pattern in the colorful banner for Wednesday’s media event. This may sound like a stretch at first, but if you look carefully, the arrays of colors are actually stretched versions of stock iOS icons. Why would said icons be stretched? Because the iPhone 5 is expected to feature a taller, thinner 4-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Still not convinced? Maybe this will sell you:

and is there a new app coming? look closely below

Of course, this theory could be completely off, or it could be a particularly great case of reading tea leaves. You be the judge.

It’s no longer a secret that almost every day, you read different articles regarding the unending battle between the two tech giants Apple and Samsung.
But on top of the few things we know that they are battling for supremacy and ultimately, every tech loving person’s business, the trial has revealed a couple of secrets that you wouldn’t possibly have known if there is no trial.

1. Mini iPad – this rumour which has been circulating for quite some time now and has gained momentum in the past few weeks may actually have some reality to it. The late Steve Jobs may not have been very vocal on these but based on an email evidence reveals that Apple Vice President Eddie Cue (who is using a Samsung Galaxy) told other Apple executives Tim Cook, Forstall and Schiller – “we should do one” referring to the 7″ market.

2. Fortress – Apple has exemplified one of the most strict security in the market. And it’s not only in terms of the products they produce. Reports say that you have to pass through at least five or sometimes six security clearance like badges readers and cameras before you can get access.

3. Recruitment – How about getting hired for a project so secret, you don’t know what kind of project it was? Well, that’s not the CIA or FBI, but Apple’s hiring process was so secret that’s what team members who worked on the iPhone went through.

4. Investment – Sometimes people may criticize Apple for a lousy advertising or anything they could use to discredit their media mileage. But did you know that Apple is spending tons of money to get the word out? Statistics show that Apple’s advertising spending tops US$173 million in 2010 and US$149 million for the iPad campaign alone.

5. The Pie – While it is with little contention that Apple is still the biggest player in the tech industry, Samsung is gaining traction in taking a piece of the pie that Apple previously took on a solo. Yes, it’s hurting Apple and as the Korean giant continues to innovate and offer an alternative, we will see further slash on Apple’s pie.

Bottom line:
And as this battle rages on between the two, we will expect better things ahead in terms of manufacturer offers for better products. Whatever result this trial would have, we can say that competition is good for the consumers.
